This post has been very hard for me to write, but I felt like it was time to do so. Especially after writing my last post about all the things no one told me about blogging. However, I’ve been listening to a lot of podcasts, reading a lot of books, and writing a lot.
I have enjoyed the direction that this blog is going, but blogging is extremely time consuming. It is taking up time and energy that I don’t have to put into blogging.
So, I’ve decided that for my life right now and the current life transitions that I am in – that I need to do it offline. I truly enjoy blogging. It has been amazing to make a few bucks while watching my audience grow in such a drastic way. However, numbers aren’t everything, but my sanity, health, and safety are.
I have been consuming way too much content. Either through television shows, YouTube videos, blog posts, or reading comments on Facebook. It has come to a point where I would rather take a step back from the online world to take care of myself.
I talk so much about the importance of self-care and doing what you truly love by slowing down and staying present. And I feel like right now it’s time for me to take my own advice. I need to do what I have been telling others to do as well.
I’ve decided that I need to get back to things I truly enjoy like writing and photography because they are my hobbies and creative outlets. I also want to focus on my career and blogging is enjoyable, but it’s becoming a second job for me that I feel like I’m not giving it the attention it deserves.
Making this tough decision proves that I have truly shifted my mindset this year. I’ve decided to go on a temporary hiatus from blogging.
I don’t want to quit blogging completely, I just need time to myself to recenter and refocus. So, thanks for following along on my blogging journey and in the meantime – check out my past posts!
