I absolutely love to travel and I’ve been all over the world doing so. I’m always planning my next trip whether it is two hours away to visit a friend, or across an ocean. I’ve also created a travel bucket list and I can’t wait to knock off a few more countries.
Whenever I travel there are always eight items that I make sure to have in my personal bag. I cannot go anywhere without these simple in-flight essentials. They’re always the first thing I make sure are in my bag and I never leave home without them.
eight must have in-flight essentials:
1 | earphones
I’d love to invest in a quality pair of the Bose QuietComfort Acoustic Noise Cancelling Bluetooth Headphones, but I cannot wrap my mind around the price. For now, I use my Apple EarPods and they do the job for me. I love that I can talk on my iPhone with these earphones and the sound is amazing. I also like using them while sleeping on a plane. Although, I think being able to sleep on planes comes with frequent travel.
2 | a good book
A good book can make or break an afternoon flight for me. I’m usually wide away and if there aren’t any movies I’d like to watch. Then I’m always ready to get lost in a good book. I’m constantly adding so many books to my ‘to-read’ list on Goodreads and I just can’t get enough. If you need some suggestions of books to read: here’s what I’ve read lately.
3 | hand cream
I absolutely love Crabtree & Evelyn’s hand creams and I can’t get enough. When I travel, I’m constantly washing my hands. And a hand cream that makes my hands feel very soft is exactly what I need. Some of my favorite scents are Citron, Pomegranate, and La Source. Hand creams are great especially when you have dry hands like I do.
4 | compression socks
Compression socks are great for flights. They help to improve blood flow in your legs while preventing your legs from swelling and blood clots. My legs used to swell a lot during flights and after flying so frequently these socks have become a lifesaver for me. Now, when I get into a car after a flight I take them off and I have no swelling or pain.
5 | antibacterial wipes
Antibacterial wipes are perfect for planes. To wipe off your tray, to clean up a spill, and so much more. My favorite wipes are Wet Ones Sensitive Skin Hand Wipes that are Extra Gentle and Unscented. Because they are hypoallergenic with natural moisturizers that don’t irritate my sensitive skin.
6 | memory foam neck pillow
When I purchased my first memory foam neck pillow my life changed. Having a neck pillow that keeps your neck stable, but also comfortable while sleeping on a plane is the best. I am a window seat type of person. So, having a neck pillow that allows me to lean towards the window without having neck pain when I wake up is perfect.
7 | glass water bottle
A water bottle is always a must have while traveling. I like to take my own water bottle to refill before I board a plane. I also like having a water bottle for the hotel gym. This way I can not only save plastic, but also reuse my own bottle. The benefit of using a glass bottle is the clean, pure taste you will have. My favorite is the Ello Elsie BPA-Free Glass Water Bottle in 22 oz. I also love how eco-friendly this bottle is by being BPA, phthalates, PVC, lead, and cadmium free!
8 | a cozy scarf
The best in-flight essential of all is a cozy scarf. I have this blanket scarf and I absolutely love it. It’s small enough for it to fit in my carry-on, but big enough to wrap me up while on a flight (I’m also 5′). I tend to get really cold on flights, and this scarf is perfect for every single one of them.
