Felicia’s Five Favorites | June 2017

June has been a very successful month for my blog. I’ve learned to stop focusing on numbers so much, but I’m happy that my readership and engagement is the highest it has ever been. It shows me that my blogging break was worth it and I’m starting to get my blogging mojo back. It all feels so good. So I felt like it was time to share some of my favorites from the month.

One thing I’ve decided to do as well is change my posting schedule to two times a week, instead of three. I was putting too much pressure on myself and I’d rather have little bit more time for longer posts, along with better quality content. New posts will now be every Monday and Friday at 7am EDT! So, make sure you check in on those days for new content. Once I get back into the full swing of things again, I’ll increase my posting days.

something to read: Wellth by Jason Wachob

If you want to read a book that will inspire you to start a wellness journey then this book is for you. I’ve been getting into wellness a lot more lately. The main thing I’ve been doing is focusing on my water intake. I’ve only been drinking water with the occasional small lemonade about once a week. And this is coming from a Pepsi addict that couldn’t go a couple of hours without a 20oz bottle. But I’ve learned to let that go and start giving my body the nourishment that it needs sprinkled in with a little bit of self-care. This book definitely gave me the motivation to start taking my life and health a lot more serious.

something to smell: body oils

I definitely love all of the different composition hair and body oils from Aveda. They nourish your body, give you a nice glow, and they smell wonderful. My favorite would have to be the Beautifying composition oil. It not only smells glorious, but it also includes jojoba oil and essences, like rosemary and bergamot, which is great for dry skin. They have a few other oils that are amazing as well. The Shampure composition oil is great for nourishing dry lips and hands. Whereas the Stress-fix composition oil is great for those nights when you can’t sleep, or just need to relax.

something to wear: baseball caps

I recently wrote a post all about five simple wardrobe staples that included baseball caps. I’ve been wearing them a lot lately on lazy hair days and I love them. Caps are so cute to style with a casual outfit. They are effortless, but can spruce up an outfit a little.

something to listen to: let it out with katie dalebout

I love this podcast and I stumbled upon it when it was previously named The Wellness Wonderland. This also happened to be when I was first began learning about wellness. Katie is a great host who talks to some of the greatest wellness experts in the field. By listening to this podcast I’ve learned more about women’s health, body positivity, and learning to surround yourself with a great community of supportive people. You can click here to listen to it on iTunes.

something to try: decluttering your beauty products

I am currently trying a new approach to buying toiletries and decluttering my beauty products. Toiletries is the hardest category for me to save money and declutter. But since it’s my mission to conquer this task. I’ve went back to the basics of how I look at beauty products. I started by decluttering my beauty products to get rid of what is expired. Since expired products are horrible for you skin and health.

I also decided to purchase what I needed and to not shop for any beauty products during the months of July and August. I’m going to try to not buy any in September as well, but we’ll see how that goes. I want to use up what I currently have and find a way to truly minimize this aspect of my life.
