Sometimes you deal with feelings of overwhelm on a pretty consistent basis. A time in my life when I dealt with feeling overwhelmed was my last semester in undergrad. I was working two jobs, going to school full-time, studying for the LSAT, preparing for my life after graduation, trying to have a social life, and get enough sleep. Let me tell you, that was very hard to do. Being overwhelmed is not great, but it is something that we have to work towards getting over.
A lot of the time we are in such big transitional periods in our lives (like I am now). And you feel like you have so many things to do, but you don’t know what to do. I was able to overcome these feelings of being overwhelmed by coming up with a solution. I have outlined a few tactics that I currently use, and hopefully they will help you as well.
how to deal with overwhelm:
identify the problem
Get a notebook and write down every single thing that is bothering you. Use the notebook as way to center your thoughts and focus your mind in one direction. I did this right before I graduated in order to center myself. My mind was constantly all over the place and I could not focus to do homework, write blog posts consistently, or have a good sleep schedule.
When you identify the problem that is causing you to feel overwhelmed you will feel so much better. You are taking the first step in order to solve the issue for whatever you are currently dealing with.
make a plan
Have a plan to take action on what exactly is making you feel overwhelmed so you can get over it as quickly as possible. List out all of the tasks that you need to complete, and all of the things you are procrastinating on doing. I love to make a plan. But I always have this saying in the back of my mind.

This expression is so true and we try to take control of so many aspects in our lives, but unfortunately we are unable to do so. Still, you can try to make a plan to relieve stress in order to get over dealing with feeling so overwhelmed in your life.
My favorite way to do so is to practice some self-care. Maybe you need to meditate, read the Bible, write in your journal, or take a walk. Make a plan to get rid of dealing with feelings of being so overwhelmed. Realize that everything is okay, and it will all work out the way it is supposed to work out. It took me a while to realize this fact. Once I did it relieved so many anxieties and unneeded stress in my life that I knew were just burdens I did not need to bear.
Once you have a clear sense of what is making you feel very overwhelmed take action. Take action on the plan that you came up with. Make sure that you have a way to deal with feeling overwhelmed. Whether you need to simplify your days, or get organized. Maybe you need help staying productive and on task, or you need to take more breaks. Do whatever you need to do in order to get over feeling overwhelmed and ridding yourself of unneeded stress.
